[UPDATE] Pre-draft interview with Rapids Head Coach Gary Smith
[UPDATE] Philly got the #6 spot from Dallas for allocation money. Philly now has the #1,6, and 7 spots in the draft.
[UPDATE] Colorado has traded but the details have not been released. Rumor is that the Rapids are giving up Cory Gibbs to New England for the rights to Jeff Larentowicz, a draft pick, and allocation money. Would be a good move if Larentowicz doesn’t go to Europe before next season.
[UPDATE] NY has traded their 31 and 48 spot to New England for Chris Albright.
[UPDATE] FC Dallas dealt their #6 spot to Philly for allocation money.
[UPDATE] New Order in the first round:
1. Philadelphia
2. New York
3. San Jose
4. Kansas City
5. Dallas
6. Philadelphia
7. Philadelphia
8. Columbus
9. New England
10. Chivas USA
11. Seattle
12. Columbus
13. Chicago

Blockbuster Move
DC United has traded their #7 pick, midfielder Fred, and allocation money to Philadelphia for goalkeeper Troy Perkins. Perkins played for United before his two year stint in Europe. He is a good goalkeeper but is he worth what United gave up? Especially with a salary of $300,000.
Who does Philly get with the #7 pick? Philly needs midfielders and Amobi Okuga and Blair Gavin will probably still be on the board. Most people are hinting at them going after Okuga.
Trades that might still happen
FC Dallas still has Van den Bergh on the trading block, but who knows if it will have draft day implications.
TFC might still trade up to get young Canadian striker Bunbury.
NY still might trade up to get Dilly Duka.
I’ll try to post as new developments arise. I’ll will grade the draft in the coming days.
