US U-17 standout midfielder, Luis Gil, has finally signed with MLS.  It was rumoured that he would sign before the draft but when that fell through most figured he’d be headed to Europe. Gil was linked to Real Madrid and Arsenal but chose to snub those offers for MLS.  He will be allocated to a team this coming Monday after the weighted lottery. 

He’s a talented 16 year old midfielder but probably isn’t ready to make an impact right away.  Should the Rapids throw their name into the lottery for this kid or hold out for a better prospect?
