Frequently Asked Questions

  • What are the costs to play?
Costs vary depending on the team and the season. League costs generally vary between $70-$90/season and tournaments are usually $25-$30. Costs are a bit less for players on our top men's team as a portion of their costs are covered by club sponsorships. The club provides Jerseys and often shorts for each of the teams. Players are generally bring their own socks, keeper gear if applicable, etc..

  • Are there practices?
Yes, all of our teams have some practices, but only our men's Premier and United Teams have required weekly practices. Our women's and men's Over-30 teams have occasional practices based on the season or upcoming event. Our men's Premier and United teams practice weekly at Dicks Sporting Goods Park on Thursdays at 8pm.

  • When are tryouts?
We are willing to give talented players individual tryouts on a year-around basis. Please fill out our signup form on the 'Get Involved' page on the 'Info' tab. For our men's Spring/Fall league teams, we hold traditional tryouts twice a year (July/August for the Fall League Season and February/March for the Spring League Season). For our women's team, we hold tryouts when there is a enough interest in a specific tournament or league (more than roster size dictates).

  • Is Travel Required?
No, all practices and league matches are in the Denver metropolitan area, generally either in the city of Denver or at Dicks Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City. We do participate in out of state tournaments during the year and those options are announced well in advance.

  • Where are games/practices held?
Games are usually are played at the best soccer complex in the state, Dicks Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, and occasionally (for the men) at fields in Broomfield. Practices are mostly held at Dicks Sporting Goods Park and occasionally in Central Denver at a park near DU.

  • What is the level of play?
High-Level Adult Amateur. For our men's Premier/United teams, we generally recruit male players that have played at a collegiate or similar level. For our Over-30 team, the skill range is still high but a bit more variable. For our women's side, we are a bit more flexible with experience, but the same high expectation of skill remains.

  • What other player expectations does the Club have?
We expect our players to be good teammates and reliable and positive members of the club. We place a high value on communication and commitment. Our club has been created for players that want to excel with a top-level team(s). The commitment required isn't anything over the top (1x/week practice and game for an 8-10 game season), plus any other indoor leagues or tournaments that you participate in. While we understand that you have a busy life outside of soccer (don't we all!), the expectation is that if you commit to play with FC Denver, that we can expect you at most practices and almost all games. And that you will communicate with your team leadership if/when you will be absent.
